Hey there, loves. It's that time of the month again, and here I am, your ever-so-slightly disheveled blogger, navigating through a sea of deadlines and, let's be honest, a smidge of procrastination. I'm feeling as uninspired as a cloudy, chilly day. But, as they say, the show must go on, so let's make like a mafia wife (more on that later) and get into it.
Fashion: The Eccentric (and The Baffling)
I recently wrote about Golden Globes fashion (with the usual silk skeleton parade), but Billie Eilish really caught my eye. She's always been bold and brave, but her latest look left me scratching my head. It felt more like a reflection of the confusion swirling among the youth today – blurred lines and all. I mean, experimenting with fashion is great, but this time, it seemed like Eilish was a bit lost in the wardrobe and looking unhappy. (It wasn’t much better at the Critics Choice Awards last night. )And in these crazy times, who can blame her?
The Ozempic Effect
Speaking of fashion trends, have you wondered what will happen when Ozempic and its weight-loss pals are back in stock? If everyone suddenly becomes runway-skinny, what will the new fashion norm be? Major players like Old Navy and Ann Taylor Loft, who once championed plus-size lines, are backtracking, while plus-size models on the runway are dwindling.
So, what's the real skinny? On one hand, it's transforming lives (and bodies). On the other, it's pushing the fashion world back into an era where 'thin is in,' and size inclusivity is more of a nostalgic thought than a reality. It's like we're playing a game of 'musical chairs,' so who will be left without a seat when the music stops?
I'm super curious about this impending shift. With those low-waisted jeans making a comeback, gird your loins if you’re not a size 00.
Diana Ross Rocks YSL, The Bear Bares All
Diana Ross for YSL was a major moment – she is an icon for all ages. And then there's The Bear in his Calvins. From Milan to Madison Avenue, it's the talk of the town – is it brilliant or a bust? Honestly, I'm on the fence. But hey, if a man in his underwear is what grabs headlines in today's world, maybe we're doing okay. This take from McSweeney’s was a giggle.
And now, besides a hot guy in his underwear, there are some other things to love right now:
Fragrance Crush: Diptyque 34 is my current obsession. It's a warm, spicy, yet not overly masculine scent with hints of rose, amber, and blackcurrant. Warning: You might end up sniffing yourself all day!
Beauty Pick: This 10% multi-acid milk serum is a good old Goopy game-changer for your skin. It's gentle yet effective, targeting dark spots and uneven tones. Plus, this "desert milk" thing has a nice ring when you want to wake up with a morning dew glow.
Lip Love: Dry lip season is here, and U Beauty's tinted lip compound is a splurge but oh-so-worth it.
Hair Trend Alert: The fox cut – think of it as the more glamorous and versatile cousin of the wolf cut. Longer, more structured layers that frame your face and add volume to fine hair and feels ageless for those looking for ways to stay on trend but not feel silly. I’m not about it personally. Instead I favor something more like the above- long fringe and lots of rock and roll layers are always a good, and “foxy” idea.
Sopranos chic: Say hello to the Mafia wife trend – it's all about bold glam with furs, big jewelry, and designer handbags. A welcome change from the minimalist chic we've been seeing.
Shoe Spotlight: My Dries Van Noten snakeskin boots are a statement piece. They're so good with a jumpsuit.
Knitwear Love: I'm all about knitwear in unexpected forms this season. COS has this amazing grey matching set that's a fresh take on the classic suit. It also comes in black, but the grey feels so menswear-like in the best of ways.
Playlist Perfection: To set the mood on these chilly nights, I've got an 80s playlist perfect for everything from cooking to daydreaming. Scroll all the way down to get some.z
A shoulder pad sweater: I spotted this in the Frankie Shop en route to brunch this past weekend and loved it. Way to make a classic navy knit feel more updated. I’ll take three.
Cool sock/shoe vibes: J.Crew is returning to Soho (close to Balthazar), and that’s a great move. This little billboard out front made me smile, mostly for what’s happening below the knees. The perfect sock, shoe, and anklet. So well-styled and so well-done.
Ooh, and one more thing. I highly recommend “Priscilla”, Sofia Coppola’s excellent film about Priscilla Presley and Elvis. Plus, Jacob Elordi as Elvis is quite fantastic.
So, there you have it – a whirlwind tour of my midmonth musings. Until next time, keep experimenting, stay fabulous, and remember, even in the gloom of winter, there's always something new just around the corner! Snuggle in, perhaps, with this sweater under your outsized “fur” coat for a bit of cheek. XO

Do you know how expensive those weight loss shots are?! Expensive baby! They may not be affordable for everyone .
